The outstanding balance owed was 4000.00 and only 775.00 was his responsibility. He had a roommate (whom the landlord had met but they messed up the paper work and she wasn't on the lease. The landlord new that aside from the 775 (which a report was done as it was stolen) the rest was the roommates responsibility. The landlord oked the 2 moving out but was thinking more in my friends benefit and the girl lost all contact once she moved her things from the apartment and leaving it a mess. He got very scared and moved into his friends apartment and is on the lease. Im wondering if they will catch up to him thinking that he ran from them (and yes it looks like he did but being 18 years old with this over his head...its a bit understandable) It has been 4 months and he hasn't heard a word from them...seen them at his work or received any letters. His number changed...but through the S.I.N card you would think they would find him. He is also on Welfare. if its been 4 months...
what do you think will happen? What are your experiences? How can he defend himself when the shit hits the fan so to speak?

He was more then likely already sued, he can pull his credit report to find out.

I do not know what an 18 year old boy is doing on welfare, but the amount he owes will go to collections first, then be garnished from his wages later.
