ok fish people..over population question..?

my power went out today and when it came back on i was not home to put water back in the filter system...so lack of water it burnt up. i am not going to make it to the pet store until atleast thursday. unfortunately it was my 20gallon's tank's system, so i have my 10 gallons (for up to 15g) system running it right now. and i moved the 10g inhabitants up so no one suffocated for sure..this is what i have in the 20 gallon now : 2 real plants, 1 pleco, 6 neon tetras, 1 platy, 1 dwarf gourami, 2 guppies, 4 tiger barbs (med size, not adults yet) should this set up work for them until thurs (or friday so i can get the 10gallon's water moving again)? i know it's over crowded but am hoping this was a better decision than dooming a whole tank to suffocation.
the barbs are the only one's not normally in this tank. (will be upgrading to 55g in sept/oct) due to the agression issue.. i do not get paid until thurs so i do not have the option of running to store asap..my main concern is the pleco, gourami, platy and guppies.. they are the kid's favorites to watch. they like the tetras and barbs, but not as upset if one of them dies.

Be carefull tetras tend to be more aggressive. The guppies however can go with out a filtration system. Actually most fish should be fine til thursday. I myself had a guppy tank same size, that the filter died, but the fish were fine until I was able to get a new one.

Actually for 20 gallons it's not that overcrowded to the point where they won't survive. I'd just keep an eye on the tiger barbs as they can be aggressive towards other fish such as the platy and the guppies if they are kept in a school of less then 5-6. Keep an eye on the pleco as well as they tend to get territorial. If you need to separate them back, then do it, I'm sure they can last a few days without the filter as long as you do water changes to make sure the water is kept clean.
The other filter should be fine in the tank, it just not bringing as much water out per an hour as the other filter would have.
I'd only be concerned with the amount of fish that were added into the 20g tank in the short space of time. Add in some stress coat. But I'd say your tank should be fine, but do get the new filter as soon as you can, but don't panic too much!

Get to the pet store asap because if you dont your gonna have some dead fish. If you CANT just ask someone else to do it for you
