I broke mine in by HD guidelines. Let the dealer do the 1000 service with conventional oil then changed to Mobile 1 20/50 v twin at about 2000. No oil comsumption.
With HD 20-50 I burn nothing. 2 weeks ago was stuck in traffic for a solid 45 minutes with the oil temps hitting close to 300 on the gauge and was sure I burned some off. Checked it the following morning and the oil level didn't budge. Now when I ran the Redline V-twin 20-50, I was always adding a little here and there. Go figure...
9000 miles and no burn in the Oklahoma heat. I broke my SG in a little harder, but changed the oil at 30, 100, 500 and 1000. I switched from Dino oil to Mobil1 at 3000 miles and change it every 3000 miles.
