No its not. if you know your oil is full dont worry. It is a common problem on the R6 and R1 from 98-2001. One way to help it go out is to just top off the oil and put a little extra in to bring it just a tad past the full mark. usually helps. Its a design flaw in oil sensor set up. You are fine.

Absolutely! There's a reason why that WARNING light is bright red! You should stop immediately if it comes on, and shut off the motor, in order to prevent catastrophic and expensive engine failure.
