Oil light comes on when car idles... 99 ford taurus?

99 ford taurus 24v 3.0L v6 dohc...ok ford dealership said i needed an oil pan gasket replacement but the repair was $380 so i got my buddy to do it... well.. he gets under the car and he's like i didnt know i had to move the exhaust.. so he starts workin and the 2nd nut to get the exhaust down was corroded so he didnt replace it... puts everything back together fills the car up with 10w 40 i think i know it was 10w something... now the light came on a couple times before but now i literally just eft his house and now everytime i stop and idle the light comes up
he never go to the oil pan gasket to replace it.. he couldnt get the exhaust off... and my fiter is fram but he didnt put it on.. he also did not remove the existing oil filter
 
the motor you have requires 5w20 oil.
the 10w40 is to thick for that engine. at the worst, use 5w-30.

make sure your oil filter IS NOT FRAM.
fram filters have a tendancy, more than anything else, to have the cardboard backing plate slip and cause and obstruction instead of allow filtered oil to flow. the motor has to work harder to push oil past it, and the oil pressure is usually low because of the blockage.
Use wix, purolator or motorcraft.
