Do we need to tell Obama that we don't want the government messing with our health care?
We want the free market to take care of itself, w/o any government intervention.
Should we all write to the president and tell him to leave wellpoint alone.
This is, after all, the greatest health care system in the world, and if we have government controlling prices, then it surely will deteriorate.
Pretty soon we'll be little better than Canada.
<<Obama tells us that millions of Americans are losing their health insurance. What he doesn't say is that they are losing their insurance because they are losing their jobs.>>
SO, am I to understand that if you don't have a job, you don't need insurance? Or don't deserve insurance? And your children also don't deserve, or need, insurance? Is that your contention?
<<Obama has made it clear that he doesn't care what the majority of the American people want.>>
well, it seems that this is what 41 senators don't want. and you, of course.
<<If a "public option" national health care system is put in place you will see this as common place until all private insurers go bankrupt .... It is just truly amazing how many people in this country don't have the slightest idea of economics and business.>>
Interesting. they're going to raise rates until they go bankrupt? really? Where did you take this economics class? Really!
<<One thing I want Obama to do with health care is implement tort reform. These malpractice suits are driving health care costs up more than many realize.>>
AH yes, republican health care talking point #2. driving costs up .... 3%. WOW. That's sure going to help.
<<So your answer is a govt. takeover of 1/6th of the economy?>> But why is it 16% of our economy, and 10% of the economies of many other industrialized countries, where life expectancy is longer than it is here? THEY PAY LESS AND GET BETTER CARE. Why is that?
<<Maybe we should go back to the way it was, people knew what it cost to go to the doctor and they paid out of their own pocket.>> OH, that happens all the time today. Get sick, and when renewal time comes up, then you get to find out how much health care costs. Happens to a million people every year.
<<Really now, you know they are raising prices because the Government in California is forcing them to take patients with preexisting conditions, this is leading to higher prices ...>> OH? So what is the plan?

"As national health care reform grew more uncertain, the California Legislature on Thursday pushed forward a controversial proposal to create a single-payer health system in the state."
oh my, single payer system. wouldn't that put 'em out of business in the state? Maybe they want to anger all the voters. that should help their cause.
