we might always be apathetic about our team, but that doesnt mean we havent always been behind our team, traveled with them, fought for them

ESPN is being an idiot right now, acting like Spain has never blown out their first round competition. We blew out Bulgaria 6-1 in France, and didnt make the 2nd round.

we kicked ass in our group in Korea, and got jobbed by the Koreans in the quarters

94 we had a good team, tied Germany in the 1st round, but we tied those Korean bastards again and ended up coming out 2nd in the group, and losing to Italy in the quarters(they played dirty, but at least gave brazil a game in the finals)

In 90 we did ok in our group, and then lost to Yugoslavia(who lost to Argentina in penalties later, which is at least admirable)

86 2nd in our group to brazil, lost to bulgaria in penalties

82 in Spain, AT HOME, we barely managed to escape our group. We let Northern Ireland take the group, of all people, went ahead of Yugoslavia on head to head, and then(in those days you had a second round of groups) came last in our group to Germany and England.

I have a polish grandmother, and a pretty iffy family history regarding the germans, but for some reason I want them to win this match maybe because it's on their turf
