This thread is where you should start if you are considering flashing an HTC Apache over to Cricket.

The HTC Apache is the parent model of the Verizon xv6700, the Sprint PPC-6700, and the Alltel PPC6700, all branded under UTStarcom. The only major difference physically is that the former xv6700 has a black and silver housing while the latter two are all silver.

The following threaRAB of interest deal with the Verizon xv6700. Other models may require different methoRAB of unlocking. Perhaps those of you here with models other than Verizon's xv6700 can post links to flashing for your specific model.

Hopefully, the moRAB can sticky these all together with this thread.

This is the most relevant place I could find to post this...

Office Max has 1GB SanDisk MiniSD carRAB for $15 through the 29th.

*buy a microSD on newegg for 25 bucks for 2gig, then get a microSD-miniSD adapter on ebay for 4 bucks.

2 gig micro/mini/full SD for 30 bucks.

Thank you very much for the info and links Berry! The info was very helpful and using it I was able to successfully get my xv6700 all flashed over with working MMS & WAP!!
I appreciate all of your efforts!

Do you load a rom on the 6700 the same way as 6800. Can you load a rom that is for the 6800 on the 6700. I am trying to put the wifi feature on my sister's 6700. That's why I asked these two questions.

The links in this thread are still relevant. However, there is a better way:

Go to PPCGeeks.com and visit the HTC Apache upgrades forum. There, you will find step-by-step instructions for loading a ROM onto your device.

Then stroll over to PPCKitchen.org and download BuildOS and make your OWN Cricket ROM for the device. MMS + WAP will work 100%.

Done.
