What books are you using? Sounds like the cricket SB's, if that's the case try cains from post 1 or track down Tony's.

Ok lets see, can you reflash the phone and make sure that the "IP Behavior" is "Simpile IP" not Mobile IP or some thing "Simpile IP" only and then try it.
One other thing the Original SB from Cricket BB I have noticed that if the model is selected BB8530 and you are on the $55 plane that helps in getting all the services accept navigation.

so i did change to plan 55$ as a BB8530 and got some apps to work and gmail
