Since 2005 till now it has turned out to be chronic pain on my thoracic spine that can last for weeks or even months. The past doctors/chinese physicians diagnose as strained muscel or old injury due to a fall I had on a flight of stair in a sitting position. Right now I am having the pain for about 3 months. Is kind of aching pain so much so that it spread to my neck. At time if I stand too long during cooking it can cause weakness on my calf or even saps up all my energy leaving me feeling dead tired. I have gone to see a bone specialist in Mt. Elizabeth last 2 weeks and was diagnose that due to aging it cause my cervical spine to degenerate. But all these 22 yrs I do not have pain on my neck it only happens this year in Jan'09. I do need your medical advise. Pls help!!

have any of your docs ever actually done a full spinal MRI on your spine just to really kind of 'see' much deeper into that column and down to the actual spinal cord area too? if not, this would most definitely NEED to be done at this point. marcia

Hi Michelle,
I don't know what medical care is like in China, but I agree with Marcia that you need some tests done. I wouldn't accept that I have to just live with such pain due to "aging". That seems like the answer of a doctor who doesn't know what else to say. Can you go to a different doctor?

It may be that some physical therapy will strengthen particular muscles and lessen your pain, or that there may be some medications that would help, such as a muscle relaxant.

Don't give up! Keep pursuing help. The squeaky wheel gets the oil!

Blessings,
Emily
