Of mice and men by John Steinbeck examples of culture? quotes?

If you have “Of mice and men” by john steinbeck
I need your help.

I’m doing a project for my english 1 class and I have to get 5 examples of culture found in this book. I have to quote the text and leave a page number also.

I really need help because I can’t think of anything.

Is the way they talk culture? what about “whore houses”? or is quoting that innapropriate for school?

Note: This isn’t the entire project. Its a huge project involving summary of plot, how the author reveals characters, figurative lang. in book, and a lot of other stuff. So please don’t say I’m asking for you to do my project because you have no idea how big this project is.

Thank you.

*I have to quote the text EXACTLY.
I have the book -.-
thanks for the genuine answer bored.

any others?

well, i'm not going to find exact text examples for you, but i think you're on the right track. "Whore houses" or "cat houses" are a part of their culture, as is spending a month's pay in them. I know that there's a point where George specifically mentions what he would do without Lennie, and he gives a fairly good example of what the accepted norm was around then. Also, the African American stable buck shows how cruel that culture could be, and how none of them, except perhaps Lennie, could accept Crooks' identity as a man.
I hope these help some, and don't be afraid to use strong language if it relates to your work. Just be dignified about it and make it absolutely clear you are quoting the book. Anyway, the frequent swearing could be seen as another example of culture. Good luck

honestly it is not a big book . and it is available at the library.

so get going
.
