Odeon unlimited?

No Cineworld is the only cinema chain that does this. I am surprised no other chain has followed suit. Not sure how popular it is but it is over six years since Cineworld (then UGC) introduced it on the back of Virgin Cinemas megapass which was a 28 day season ticket for

I personally think it's simply a loss leader that they run to allow them to use the term 'unlimited' in their advertising. It seems like they've tried to make it as difficult as they could for new customers to sign up - without pushing it so far that they would get into trouble.

If it were profitable then they would sign you up immediately via a credit card repeat billing facility, and have an area on their website to sign up new customers and allow existing members to change account details.

They make you sign up in person as they need to put a photograph on the card immediately (so you are the only person who can use it). Doesn't seem at all difficult to me. I got mine in my lunch-hour in about 10 minutes from saying I wanted card to having the temporary one in my hand.

For box office terms, Cineworld considers a ticket bought with it to have a face value of

I have a unlimited card and it was a bit of a trip to get one, my local cinema (4 miles away) accepted them but didn't sell them. So I had to travel 20 miles to a cinema which sold them.

It costs

I think 8 is the most I have mangaged in a month.
I have seen five films in one week before now and two in one day. Sometimes 3 in a 24 hour period. two one day and one the next. A lot depenRAB on screening times of course. I find I go through phases. i see three in a week and then nothing for two weeks then two in two days or something like that. But i nearly always justify the monthly cost by seeing at least two in the month. Also it depenRAB on which screenings you go to. To get the most out of the card is best always to go at peak times when it is full price. If you go before midday when it is earlybird price you are only saving about

Since the beginning of Jan, I've seen:

Night at the museum
Pan's Laberynth
Them
The Return
Arthur and the Invisibles
Blood Diamond
Casino Royale
Apocalypto
Happy Feet

Got tomorrow off - seeing Casino Royale and Hannibal Rising with my girlfriend. It helps living 10 minute walk from the cinema - better than a night in front of the tele lol. The unlimited card is a goRABend.

If I didn't have young kiRAB then I would buy one. Perhaps when they are a bit older (okay, one isn't due till the end of May, so it will be quite a wait) then I'll consider it as we will be able to go and see more films as a family. Right now though with a lack of babysitters it's just not worth it.
