Odeon refuses to show 'Rambo'

I never go to Odeon, so it doesn't bother me, and quite frankly i don't know anybody that does, despite there being an Odeon in the city centre, so i doubt that Sony are particularly bothered considering that it will still do well. I went to a 4pm screening on Friday at my local Cineworld and it was packed even at that time, so it's a load of shite them saying that it isn't likely to perform well.

im disgusted by this move. Its total BS the film wont do well, complete joke. I wont be able to watch it now :(

Considering some of the HUGE flops at Odeon atm, this is rubbish.

Everyone, just download it. Although not perfect, the region 5 DVD rip at 700MB stanRAB up perfectly well on my 42" plasma at 1080p through my upscaler.

That my good fellow is your decision, but don't let it be said the nice people on this forum didn't provide you with your only viable and very good alternative. :)

If you don't want to watch it on your laptop, just convert it to DVD, burn it to a blank disc and watch on your TV.

Sometimes, you have to make the best of what's available to you.

again missing the complete point. I already have a DivX player. I have certain loyaltys to this film and wanted to watch it properly.

and to those who said it will flop, it didnt, so bah to you.

Sly
Why do I wish you you be the real sly ....lolz maybe go down your local Odeon an Go Rambo on their asses :)

As said download it , I hate to say that as I love the cinema

This is a daft move by Odeon. Even if doesn't perform well, they are just going to drive those who do want to see it elsewhere.

We don't have an Odeon in Northampton anyway so we're not affected. We have a choice of Cineworld and VUE, both of which are showing the movie & the prices are a lot more reasonable!

Apparently Odeon are taking a stand against the distributors demanding a huge percentage of gross takings (I heard 100%!). I support their action, even though I don't think it will work. This practice (of distributors taking a very large cut of the ticket price) destroyed the small independant cinemas, and damages even the larger chains. If you wonder why a box of popcorn and a coke costs a fortune, that is why... its refreshments that actually pay the wages of the staff and are where the profits come from.
