odd sensation

I know we all have quirky pains, which often can't be explained. At what point do you decide to have it checked out?

I'm having a pressure/numbing sensation in front of my left ear. Sort of a pain free throb and it feels as if it is moving downward. I have been having this forever (years), but it only occured once every other month (maybe). Lately, it's been happening several times a day. Everyday. Is it worth a trip and copay?

Given that this is a sensation you've experienced for years on and off, the fact that it's kicked in a little more frequently lately still doesn't really sound alarming. However, only you know your anxiety level tolerance(!) so if a trip to doc will alleviate any concern you have, by all means go.

It's still possible that this will blow over tomorrow and you might not experience it again for another couple of months.

Again, it doesn't sound typical of anything extraordinary or life threatening, so go with your gut and if it's still with you in a day or so, a trip to the doc will probably make you feel better, if only to allay your anxiety.

Good luck
