Odd/publically unknown but Awesome jobs military offers new recruits.?

I'm looking into my MOS and my ASVAB scores allow me to have anything I want (I scored an 82, all individual sections above 100's) and currently looking into Multimedia. computer programming, and communications work. But I was curious what other jobs would be interesting, fun, non combat related, and able to be used in civilian life once I finish the military.
To killer queen: Yes I know I have to find out what is available. But the recruiter only has a common job section of the list. Before I go to the recruiter I want to make a list of top jobs I want, and then make sure which ones are open and available for me.
Also I was reminded to make this note: The reason I ask for a non combat related job is that I do not plan to do military my whole life and there is nothing civilian life wise that should deal with combat once I am finished, so why learn a combat related skillset past basics. Yes I am there to defend our land (or do whatever the government orders us) but I also want to put my all into learning a job set that I can like and will carry me through life in or out of the military.
 
Try for the intelligence gathering field , it's cool and you don't play as many of the Army games. Linguists is a good MOS , they draw a lot of embassy duty.
 
All branch EOD, Army or Navy diver, Army Counterintelligence, Criminal investigation, Army Psychological Operations, Army Civil Affairs.

Here is my top list. There is so many more though.
 
While it depends on the needs of the army, you can go up to MEPS with a couple of jobs you would be interested in, so if you get snubbed, you have a fall back. If they have nothing, then tell them thank you, I would like to talk to my recruiter. Explain that they do not have anything you are interested in , and stand your ground. The army will always be there, and he might be upset, and possibly lie, but if you are firm, and explain to them you can wait till the job opens up, (which it will) the they will simply take you home, discontent. Often, they will later receive a little chew out for taking a person to go up, sleep at a hotel, and not enlist. Stand your ground.
 
Actually you can't have any job you want. It depends on which ones need people and the ones you listed fill up fast. Non-combat jobs are also privatizing to a large extent so you need to see which ones are open first.

Of course the purpose of the military is to defend and protect but if you want a job that deploys very little, Legal doesn't and neither does Comptroller. Both would transfer well but again, both have few slots and they are snatched up fast.
 
If the Army wanted to send you out into the workforce as a civilian Infantryman, there wouldn't be a GI Bill to retrain you.

Very few military jobs directly transfer into the civilian side unless you want to spend the rest of your life as a defense contractor (which is usually paid less than their military equivalent, except for specialists)

As a former Infantryman with a GI Bill funded IT degree, he is going to have the same US Army bullet point as a former Army commo guy with a GI Bill funded IT degree, or just the US Army bullet point. The former Infantryman is going to have a lot more to talk about management in high stress situations, dealing with pressure, team work and just generally better stories. At the same time, you'll be talking about working on Army computers and then working on civilian computers. When two people have the same civilian education and one of them has a bunch of useless experience on Army only equipment, I know which one I would hire. This would apply to any MOS.
