Well I've been looking for an answer to this question for some time now and have had no luck. The problem I'm having is when I do something strenuous I break out in itching all over my body and its very intense. Here's the second real problem its not consistent. I'm very active I work out almost everday I have healthy eating habits and drink a gallon of water everyday. When I lift I find it happens more rarely, when I run it seems to be more constant, and when I lift something for example to help move a heavy item It seems to be even more frequent. The weather is definitely not a factor because Its happened in all types and its not sweating because It happens when I dont sweat. Does anyone have any idea what this possibly could be?

~Thanks

Im not sure If I conveyed the length properly but it last for about 10-20 mins as long as I stop exercising otherwise it persists

like I said there is no rash so It coudlnt be any of those, as I said the weather ranges from cold to hot so none of that would be factors, an I dont not always sweat when this occurs

Hi There! I just read that creatine can be used by the body to produce creatinine. If the kidneys don't clear this the levels could be building up in the blood. If that body were my body I would be begging the doctor to check my creatinine levels as soon as I could.

One more thing did a doctor tell you to take creatine pills? I guess I mean creatinine perhaps this is different than what you are taking? I would think that might affect kidneys since that is one of the levels that is checked for proper kidney function.

no, that was for working out it allows for more endurance during a work out it increases muscle absorbtion of creatine through the blood stream, I was refered by a professional trainer and drank plenty of water with it, the benefits were slim to none so I stopped taking supplements all together

Nope no rash, I have not seen a specialist I believe I have told my doctor and he said he didn't know I wear rash guarRAB, under Armour and normal cotton clothes and take a shower before I run usually, I find the itching to occur more werer the clothes dont cover such as my forarms calves thighs and innner thigns. I dont believe Im allergic because I dont itch at any other time except when I exercise and its not consistent. I guess I let my skin dry out I mean I stop doing what I'm doing when it becomes overwhelming, this problem Id say I've had for a few years

While urticaria reactions are not strictly allergic, a release of histamines by the body normally causes the reaction. The type I referred to is caused by exercise. And yes, the treatment is normally an antihistamine. But once again, it isn't a true allergy...hence why I suggested either an allergist or a dermatologist. Do a search for "urticaria" and read about the various manifestations thereof. It's worth a try...

Hi, Is it hot where you live? I know one book that suggests showering after you exercise instead to take sweat off before it is absorbed back into the skin.

It might be something as simple as exercising too hard - starving your muscles of oxygen and causing a vascular (over)reaction.

Other possibilities might be a side effect of medication Rx or OTC, an allergy to a supplement, vitamin or energy bar/drink, wheat allergy, Celiac disease (an inherited autoimmune disorder) or endocrine disorders like hyperthyroidism.

Exercise induced hives (what Titchou mentioned) is caused by the sudden increase in body temperature, not weather, clothes or sweat.

There is a form of urticaria that comes from exertion - cholengic or something like that. And a visible rash does not have to be present. Just an fyi....

Exercising to hard is what I initially thought, however I've been doing intense 40 yard dash sprint training an nothing, today I went on a brisk jog and broke out in itching, there are no topical hives so if there are any they are underneath the skin, Im currently taking no meRAB, no supplements, I am doing a fairly new diet I created however this problem has been going on long before this diet, and I often times eat nothing before a workout and if I do its fruit, I dont have any known allergies. I'm confused when you guys bring up allergies because It doesnt occur unless I exercise and if Im allergic then wont it occur regardless of me working out or not?

Exercise induced hives is one of the Physical Allergies, it's different from other allergies (pollen, dander, food, etc) because the trigger is a physical stimulus. It occurs when the stimulus is present and goes away when it is removed.

Exercise, emotional stress (both causing a rise in body temp), sunlight, cold, vibration, physical pressure (like carrying heavy books or scratching) can all cause itching or hives in people with physical allergies.

ah well thank you my apologizies I did not research that condition sufficently

Nope no tests done on my kidney or liver, I'm curious how could that be relevant? The odd part to me is that it ONLY occurs during exercise or strenuous activity

I realize I do need to see a doctor for this, I'm just trying to learn about this in the meantime and figure out whether this is dangerous or just inconvenient

On a side note I used to take creatine an I had stopped for a long time, about 5-6 months ago I remerabered I still had extra creatine and took some with my workout an began itching during the workout I have stopped taking it since, I don't know if it was a coincidence or not but It might be useful info

Ah ok this all makes alot more sense thank you all so much for the prompt answers I really appreciate it

Mr. Mattsimok, look at "Glutathione" and other elements are below normal levels. Some of these others are either synergistic with glutathione or they are cofactors of glutathione.

Do your Research on this Powerful Antioxidant which is related underline factor dealing with different ailments. Hope this is helpful.

God Bless!

Ok I only know that there are many factors involved in how our bodies respond to them, but because the lack of this molecule by 10 to 12 percent every decade our body is not as resistant or in line with the natural communications our suppose to have.

This molecule has a very important role in everything from cancer, alzheimer, adhd, and so many others. It is a main component in helping our body better communicate better in these curcumstances.
