...control - How is that going? Under Bush a seasoned brigade from Iraq was to start helping the police with crowd control and other civil unrest issues

At least that is what Army Times reported along with a few media comedians The Colbert report ran a "US invades itself: show theme etc

Some people have worried about a police state as video's of Homeland security's check points look more and more fascist or cold war communist in fashion

Those were the people who said that the army helping police was a bad idea with martial law as the only possible motive

Were they right ?

Was it all paranoid rambling ---- or something in between?

Oct 1st /08 the military was to take up its position to help the police with crowd control - How is that going

The Posse Comitatus Act addresses this scenario.
The vast majority of military personnel will defend the constitution and not act to the contrary.

you are way off civil unrest tactics have been part of military training since the 60's and Vietnam the national guard can also be involved and have no worry it is against the constitution to use deadly force by our military.

Isn't it funny how the same people who vote GOP because they're convinced Obama is going to make us a Leninist police state never made much of a peep over that whole noise?

...when confronted with it they'll probably just blame Obama, even though the election hadn't happened yet...
