I get a call from my landlord telling me what address to send the deposit. And then he tells me the place is filthy. I cleaned it thoroughly when I left.
We agreed verbally that I could leave my apartment early out of the lease if I found someone to take over. I did and I left on April 15.
He calls me and tells me he wants me to mail him a copy of my airline tickets. I'm confused as to why. He said to make sure I really did move to NY. It shouldn't make a difference where I go but he says that he wants to make sure I didn't move down the street. He then tells me the difficulty in finding a new tennet.
I tell him I found him one and the guy already paid his deposit and he approved of the guy weeks before I moved out of the apartment.
I told him I'd mail him the airline ticket. He was such a nice guy and then immediately when he called he changed totally and kept telling me "you know how you left the apartment." I asked if there was a problem. He said no.
I'm worried that he is asking for my airline ticket to make sure I moved. That way he can screw me over my deposit even more.
Should I mail it anyway? That's what he requested. Not sure what I should really do. I was thinking of just sending a letter and the airline ticket information.
