I remember reading some fiction book (series) that included supernatural elements, such as unicorns and time travel, and had a main character who traveled to different settings to try to stop some evil force - for example, he traveled into Macbeth to try to stop the antagonist, and later he traveled into a cell to stop the mitochondria from killing the host. Also, he traveled to Biblical times, and did something in reference to Noah's arc and cherubim and a God named "El", etc. I know how horribly obscure this probably sounds, but any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
