I'm thinking about speaking on this topic tomorrow in my class, and I feelthat Obama's popularity among young people has dropped a lot. Do you think his popularity overall had decreased or increased? Have people been keeping up with recent actions.

As a younger person that voted in this past election, I think the whole election was a complete joke. So many younger people jumped on the Obama bandwagon after a lot of celebrities & other people whom they looked up to let it be known that they were voting for him. I think Obama made a lot of promises for change that he isn't going to be able to follow through with. He hasn't had that much time in the office so far to make too much of a change. His popularity is definitely going down especially after that stimulus package was passed.

I think it is too early to judge Obama yet. The young people may feel a bit disillusioned because young people want fast results. He said change and they want to see change NOW. Older people are more realistic and when they hear Obama say "change", they look for long-term impact of his policies.

its too early. a few months in office is not long enough to really draw a conclusion on him. he is changing things and has been doing a lot, but like everything in our world it takes a lot of time. the people who no longer like him that previously did were expecting instant results. as a 21 year old male who was a very strong obama supporter i still support and like him a lot. i would say about about 90-95% of what i originally did.

I think his popularity among young people even people in general has dropped because they all expected a dramatic change like once he got into office they expected this economic crisis to be over. I was in Target one day and these two guys were talking about how they don't like Obama anymore beacuse "he hasn't done anything" I was so tempted to bud in and explain to them, hes done more than you think.

Recent polls have shown that his popularity is dropping. It is under 60% already, which is a very fast drop for a new president. Carter had a better approval rating at this point in his presidency and he was one of the worst presidents of my lifetime (next to Nixon).

I remember seeing a CNN poll that said after his 50th day in office, it was 62%. Compare with 63% same time for Bush 8 years ago.

As the economy continues to decline, Obama's inaction about it is causing a decline in popularity.

With young people, of course his popularity dropped. A huge part of his popularity was the fact that he was such a "change". Now that the change is here, no one thinks it's cool anymore.
