O cricket, Why!!! or motorola??

Ok here is a crazy story....


called cricket to order my phone from cricket, called 1-800-cricket. ordered the w315 from motorola. everything came up to 91 dollars. got my phone last wednesday, pushed x228 to program phone. Now just to let you know, i live in Denver Co, and our area code is either 303 or 720, well texted my dad, and said hey this is my new nuraber. Now the invoice slip never showed me the phone nuraber, but i was going to figure that out later, i was just happy with my new phone.

Got a reply text from him saying...Dude this is a 901 nuraber!!
A 901 nuraber how? so i dialed 611, the automated system asks for information to access account, and everything i put in there was not valid!! how could this be?

So i went down to a cricket store told them i just bought this phone, the nuraber is all messed up and i can not access the account. The guy looked up the esn on the phone and found it was already on someones account in memphis!! What? how can this be i just bought this phone!!!

He was confused too, its showed the esn had been on that account since july, and was an active account! He told i need to call tech support back, at the nuraber that was on the invoice. So i did, the lady was retarded, lol, sorry but she was. I told her the situation, i told her i wanted this fixed. i was calling in to let them know they messed up, now i could just keep using the phone and not pay for it, or call cricket and have them fix it for me.

She transferred me to web support. I again explained the situation to her, and she found out, my phone had a duplicate esn! motorola sent out my phone with a duplicate esn! My option, send it in for a refund, and have them send out another phone, which will take up to 30 days!! I wanted was a cricket phone!! why me?? :lol:

that's ****ed. if it was a dealer i'd understand. as a dealer i'm not really inclined to help anyone that bought their phone someplace else, presumably because they did it for a better price, but when they are unable to get the same level of service they would have gotten if they had purchased from me that is why. Corp on the other hand will usually go out of there way to satisfy a customer. Find a manager and talk to them. if that doesn't work call corp HQ in san diego. it's not your fault this happened and if i were you i'd tell them to send another phone as advanced replacement, or to preferably exchange it in the corp store. you may run into an issue tho because that phone has been down to on-hand inventory for some time, and with the latest inventory debacle i'd imagine they are 100% sold out right now.
 
No, I instead, just figured i lost 93 bucks with tax and actiavation and all, and bought a used kyocera from ebay, and activated to my account, as for the W315, its still active under that lady from memphis.
 
so let me get this your w315 is getting someone elses service? and u have your kyocera that is the one on YOUR account so u really didnt lose the 93 cause u jus had to do an esn swap for an extra 15

The w315 was 69.99 , plus 15 dollars for activationsso thats 85 bucks or close, plus taxes it came to 93 bucks. got the phone, has duplicate esn, my account was never created for that esn, because the esn for the w315 was on another account, some lady in memphis. I went thru hoops and what not, and cricket asked i just return the phone in brand new condition.

unfortunaly there is scratch on the screen because i was careless and put in my pocket open.lol. I told the lady at cricket on the phone about this and she said i would be denied a refund most likley because of the condition of the phone. so i said nevermind. I went on ebay bought a kyocera for 40 bucks, went to cricket, activated it, pay 15, plus 1st month, so total 65 bucks.

So now i have my kyocera that i use thats under me, because the esn worked, and a W315 sittting active under someone elses account.

so essentailly i paid 93 for the W315, plus40 for the kyo, plus 15 and 50 for 1st month.

I just needed a phone to work, i coulnt wait. and so now i have a W315 just sitting around that i dont use. It sucks lol.

The kyo isnt in that great of shape, so id like to use the w315 one day lol.
 
unless u can put a different esn on the w315 you wont be able to use it until that one lady in memphis breaks her phone or discontinues service or something.... well wat i was saying is you have a w315 thats stealing service like ppl steal cable!! LOL and if you just look around long anough u can find a way better deal than a kyocera... even if its verizon or sprint or alltel just get a usb data cable and the right software and flash it!! usually phones with BAD ESN are cheaper
 
Well, well, today I Checked it, and the phone is no longer under service, looks like she discontinued it totally, and my esn is free now. I guess. Only problem im left with now is, the kyocera has has a camera, but the w315 does not...so i guess i will have to make a decision.
