NYAF 2009 Talkback

After how long they've been doing it with Naruto it seemed like a sure thing Viz would simulcast Inuyasha. If Adult Swim had been on the ball they could have used their video player to make this happen... ah well.

Monster on Hulu? Awesome now I can watch it without cable. XD

Yoshiyuki Tomino Q&A Panel Report

I have to admit that I've never actually seen any Gundam in my life. This is why I ended up essentially doing a transcript of the Q&A panel rather than a writeup (and why it took so long to get done) -- I just didn't trust myself to summarize anything without completely hosing up what was said.

Hopefully I didn't mess up anything too badly, but corrections to the report are definitely welcome.

I'll just list some few nice bullet points on my opinion of things:

-Soul Eater cast looks good.
-Love seeing the return of X.
-Disappointing in regarRAB to Bandai's plans because of a need for financial frugality, but it is understandable.
-Looking forward to Brotherhood's cast.
-Awesome possum on the Inu Yasha simulcast.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Third and Fourth Stage coming to america, id never thought i would see the day!!!!

Ive got the first 2 seasons from Tokyopop, so now with this i can get the rest. They might as well do a boxset of 4th Stage instead of breaking it up into individual dvRAB...

A re-enactment of an episode of Soul Eater with the use of both cosplayers and real voice actors. This was done at the Soul Eater premiere panel:

Found where these supposed to go, so here's what I took if anyone cares, a few NYAF 2009 Sunday videos and photos for starters:

Main Floor
Artist Alley
Maid Cafe

Various photos and cosplay
(Anyone knows a good image hosting site?)

Brought along a few con-newbie frienRAB.

Furthermore, as for the news bit NYAF2009: Attendance Up 16% from Last Year:

Reading the original press statement, I think they mean that while Saturday was the busiest day in NYAF history, the total for all 3 days is 21,388. 21k is unbelievable for a day to fit even half at Javits Center's basement floor. Consider that Otakon has around 25k to fill all of the Baltimore Convention Center (BCC).

Also, about that. I think Otakon counts the # of people who buy "meraberships" (regardless whether one-day pass or weekend pass), while I think NYAF sums up the # attendees on Friday + attendees Saturday + attendees Sunday. The Javits Center basement is obviously nowhere near as large as the whole BCC.
