numb tingly arms.

Skunk!

my left arm feels like its when your foot goes to sleep. like having sand under your skin.

its not like fully blown numbness, just like its half asleep and half not. the problem is that i was just laying down on my back about to go to sleep when i noticed it. its been like this for several hours now.

i don't know if its related to my drinking to celebrate the new years or not. I hardly every drink alcohol, this would have been the first time in almost a year or so.

should i see a doctor right away or wait and see (after much of the alcohol leaves my system) if its gets any better.

also i tried to lift some small weights to see if i could get the blood flowing in my arm, and with just 5 pound weights, the inner-side of my arm - opposite of my elbow started to hurt, like it was being pinched or something. This doesn't happen on my right arm, nor has this every happened before from what i can remember.

||EDIT||: I was smoking a bit more over the night too btw, I don't know if that could help. but im quitting for my new year resolution ^_^.

I would say start your New Years off by getting rid of the smoking and heavy drinking. I don't want to sound judgemental. We all like to have our fun. Just looking out for your well being.

Did you sleep on your left side so that arm may have fallen asleep? If not I would definately see a doctor. I would error on the side of being safe. Good luck!

I had a friend rub around my neck and arm. i took a hot shower and i could feel it getting better. (i didn't sleep on it because i had been awake when it started)

I was talking with a friend of mine because he had the same thing happen. It was caused by my arm resting on my armrest on my computer chair. we have the same kind of chair and the edge of the armrest was pushing right on the funny bone area around our elbow. So after a couple hours like that, my arm started to get that tingly feeling like when some one taps your funny bone. Only the pressure over a period of time caused it to last a little bit longer than a couple minutes.
