Hi everyone,

I am wondering if anyone has ever had the same thing I have.

Currently I have nurab shins and thighs. The right leg is worse then the left leg.

I had a CT scan and it has come up clear. The doctor said to me if the nurabness does not go in 1-2 weeks then he wants to send me to a neurologist.

I have been seeing a physical therapist and he said to me this is a pinched nerve and is sciatica. He said to me he hasn't seen anyone this bad for a while with a bundle of problems - I have a nueroma in my right foot and also a locked shoulder on my right side too. He also said that I have lots of pinched nerves in my lower back area which is causing this nurabness. At first I had lower back pain and now that has subsided from the treatment. Now I lie here and have a nurab shins ( right side is worse ) and the heels under my feet are nurab too.

Could this be a result of the sciatica? I have had 2 days off work because of this.

At night when I lie down I can feel sensations up my right leg like a buzzing feeling/vibrating I presume this is the nerve? I don't have my lower back pain anymore since the physical therapy only the nurabness?

Has anyone had this before? What can I do to get the feeling back in my legs? Rest or walk around?

Hope y'all can help.

>>> I don't have the answers for you but I did want to welcome you to the forum and say a couple of things. In general, pinched nerves cause pain as does sciatica (which is the largest nerve, and when pinched in some way it will let you know). Usually, that kind of pain is a burning feeling that goes down the leg.

A physical therapist is not qualified to make diagnoses like that. He isn't a doctor, tho I know he sees a lot of problems. Most likely, he is linking the nurabness to pinched nerves, and it is true that can happen, but generally, you will have accompanying pain.

What kind of dr. ordered your ct scan? Did you have the contrast dye? That dye is needed to really show up the nerves.

The best kind of doctor to see is either an Orthopedic Spine Specialist or a Neurosurgeon who specializes in the spine. Not that you need surgery....just that they know the right tests to order to find nerve problems or other spine related issues. They're the best at reading the results as well and at setting up a treatment plan.

Never allow yourself to be rushed into surgery of any kind until you have at least 2 doctors in agreement, doctors who do not work in the same group. Unfortunetly, some are quick to offer surgery as a cureall and that isn't always the case.

I hope you find the answers you need.

Hi Carol,

thanks for your reply.

The dr. ordered me a regular ct scan without dye etc. I think his aim was to check if I had any bulging disks or anything like that.

It is very weird. The mornings I wake up and my feet are really nurab and heavy. The right side is worse than my left. My lower back does hurt. A dull pain with stiffness when I bend in certain positions. This morning I woke up and my feet are nurab and tight underneath. My right foot is worse then my left. When I talk about nurabness I can feel my hand running over my skin. It just feels like someone has put a bit of nurabness cream on my skin. I can feel pins and so on being pressed onto the skin.

This nurabness only appeared when I went on a huge walk for work throughout the city when I was travelling. It was like I caused some damage then.

Problem is I am moving overseas in one month. I dont think its getting worse but I just find it hard to wake up my feet in the morning. If I put sneakers on or shoes where my foot is easily supported I really dont have a problem with the nurabness.

Such a strange condition!

Sophie:)
