We are 12 weeks pregnant at 40, with our second blessing! This test was not offered with my two year old. I just got the results that the blood work and ultrasound for the Nuchal Fold Translucancy Test came back normal. We are so grateful.
Now, my question is about the next serious of blood work that is recommended when you are old like me, considered AMA, Advanced Maternal Age, at weeks 15-19, my question is what is the point of continuing on with more blood work and another Level 2 ultrasound?
What will these tests show that the this one did not? We are on a very very tight budget, and I also doubt I would consider the invasiveness of the amniocentisus, this baby is due December 25 and he/she (I think a he) is already a big part of our family. Thank you for taking the time to share your stories/input.
