i cannot believe it! i am so disappointed! here's the article off today's paper:
NRL boss David Gallop today declared something that will leave all National Rugby League fans shocked and disappointed.
"The ARL came to a decision that all first grade rugby league games will no longer be aired on on free to air or pay television. The reason we came to this regretful conclusion is because there have financial struggles within the ARL for the past season. These issues are all sponser-related and we will be looking to take legal action in the next season. As of Round 10 this season, Channel 9 and Fox Sports will discontinue airing rugby league games. Channel 9, however, have decided to fund the airing of State of Origin games, as an agreement with The Footy Show. The Footy Show and all other rugby league related shows like The Sunday Roast will continue to be aired, because of different sponsers. It is with immense regret that I announce this, but for the time being, there is nothing in the power of the ARL to fix this problem. I hope the great NRL supporters will understand," Mr. Gallop said. He later added that NRL games will continue to be broadcasted through the radio and online live scores.
