...you still buy an American new car? I'm interested because in my home country of Britain, we had the same issues that US makers had. From the 1970's to the lat 90's, British Leyland cars were badly made, badly designed, unreliable, and rust prone. The factories were uneconomical and badly managed. By the time they'd gotten around to designing & making decent cars again, buyers had lost interest and the British car industry is now pretty much gone. Will you buying an American car to help save the US car industry?

I would. If people don't start buying American made cars a lot of people will be laid off and our economy will be in the toilet (again). Plus some of the cars are very competitive.

Ford and Chevy can probably survive on their truck sales, I know they aren't economical but people still need to haul things for construction and other types of work and functionality. I do think the have to rethink there car division though any Japanese small car is hands down better and more reliable than it's American counterpart. No I will not but an American car because I already purchased an 08 Toyota Yaris and a small American car was not even in the picture when I was looking for a car. They will be okay some people are die hard GM fans and some people are die hard Ford fans who will refuse to buy anything else and still support their company. I think this country is too much centered around the automobile for all three of big American motors to go under. Ford and GM are like older twin brothers competing at everything and Chrysler was their little runt brother sometimes would surprise them but never overtake them

i wouldn't buy an American car just to save them. It's the US car indursty fault they put the company in the wrong place, even though old classic American cars were built better. Only time i would buy an American Car is a Classic.

The reason why they dont' want it to be made in Asia, because it's not the American way. the Real American way is that they want everything made by Americans, even if Steve Jobs was just hired as CEO in the US car industry he would solve the problems less than 1 year without going into bankruptcy.

Whats causing these American Car industries is the profits, sales and production.

foreign cars are so much better, cheaper, and more reliable! But once american cars get better, im willing to invest in them
