Now that Bush is out of office, can we discuss the real reason why we were in Iraq?

The Bush Sr. and Bush Jr. obsession with Iraq is very strange. Back when Bush Sr. was in office, he tried to to literally blame everything to Iraq. To the point that people began to make jokes out of it. Here's an example from a political satire show from the 80s and early 90s.

Then Bush Jr came along and also had an obsession with Iraq and instead of going after Osama big Ladin he used this time to go after a totally different country in Iraq. So my question is, what is the REAL reason Bush Sr and Bush Jr were so obsessed with Iraq?
Dante, view the youtube video. It explains about how many other countries are invaded and or in need of liberation, yet Bush sr. had no care towards them. Everything was Iraq Iraq Iraq.
 
He stole all their oil, of course.

The Bushs didn't care about Iraq at all... the CIA, and the Military want ground bases in the middle east, and Iraq is strategically located....

we cant exactly win this war on terror as they like to put it, the taliban will be there for a long time to come, i say focus on defence. bring our soldiers home! not only the american soldiers but the australian and british troops. well i guess the reason the troops are there is to train the local forces into their own army.

Hussein was a madman and a dictator who murdered thousands of innocent people (just like Saddam Hussein).
 
Where were you during the Clinton administration when Hussein was violating resolution after resolution.

Are you aware of the Iraqi liberation act of 1998 signed into law by Bill Clinton which made regime change in Iraq law of the land?

Iraq Liberation Act of 1998 - Declares that it should be the policy of the United States to seek to remove the Saddam Hussein regime from power in Iraq and to replace it with a democratic government.
