notkia 6260 and nextel

well, because i went swimming with my i850, i'm thinking of getting another phone. I want to get a notkia 6260 unlocked, but I am not sure if i can work with nextel. I was just looking up the "unlocking" feature, to find about this, but every FAQ says that nextel isn't GSM, but yet they say that any phone that has a SIM is GSM.My phone has a SIM card, so I just wanted to come here to see for sure. I dont know very much about cell phones so yea..

unfortunitely it will not work. other than nextel, all sim phones are GSM but GSM and nextel are not compatible with each other. Nextel is not compatible with anything else really except Southernlinc, telus and Boost (prepaid nextel). and those phones would need to be unlocked to work with a nextel sim. hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
 
thanks, dang that sucks, but i heard bad reviews about the 6260. well i guess i have to do some researching again, do you have any reccommendations for phones for those companies you named?
 
depends on what you are looking for, if you want flashy, the i870 and i880 are very nice phones. if you want rugged, the i580 is extremely durable. if you want inexpensive the i670 is a good choice.

if you are in the market for a hybrid, all of the phones are nice, but get mixed reviews, although everyone i have spoken with that has one loves it. i would not recommend getting one of those off ebay though, if you are going to go with the hybrid, go to a sprint store.
