I hope I picked the correct forum for this post this question/problem.

I was at my brothers house who recently purchased a 6131 receiver. I noticed something odd... I could not find the FIGHT Network channel on his receiver. He has a highdef package, and his dish has the 2 bulbs at the end of it. Yes, I pressed GUIDE twice, and made sure ALL Channels was selected. I thought FIGHT was somewhere around channel 380-390. Perhaps the channel was moved, but I looked through all of the channels and I still cannot find it.

While this does not bother him because he is not subscribed to that channel anyways, I just dont understand why its not being displayed. Other channels he is not subscribed to will show up in the Guide, just not the FIGHT network channel. I tried holding down the power button on his receiver until it turned off, then powered it back on but its still not there. I heard about going on bell.ca to synchronize the receivers but I think this is only useful if your receiver is showing channels in RED when you are actually subscribed to them. This scenario is a little different as bro is not subscribed to the channel.

Has anyone seen or heard of this before?

TSNHD was a free preview over Christmas and the world junior tournament. I hadent subscribed to it but after the preview was over channel 1400 went away all together.

Some channels that are not subscribed do not show up in the guide at all. Not certain why but it's not unusual.

I've noticed the same thing with some channels as well. I have a 9242 Rxvr.

I don't see CP24, BNN, HLN, CNBC, BBCW in my guide when I go to all channels. I don't subscribe to them, so it's not a big deal. (however, I do see CNN, CTVNC, CBCNN)

However, I also don't see CNNHD (1578) which is supposed to be on free preview.

I actually called Bell and after a few minor diagnostics, they said they would send my receiver a hit. I can't confirm if I ever did get the hit - I wasn't in front of my tv the whole time, but I still don't see those channels in my guide.

Just because Bell TV's Guide says "All Channels" it NEVER does show ALL channels, it has been like that from day 1.

I did a count of the channels available on "All Channel",from channel 10 through 1890, I get a total of 698 channels.

I have Tivo, the count I get with it's guide is 831 channels, the guide displays all the Bell channels available across the Country. That's a difference of 133 channels.

I suppose certain areas have local channels that are locked out or not available in other areas.

There have been a number of theories trying to explain which channels are omitted from the All Channels listings and why, but none of them have proven completely correct. My theory is that's it's (at least partly) due to sloppy data entry at Bell, but that can't be proven either.
