What do you say? The market tanks & come back & tanks again... and Obama speaks, Congress throws money "away" etc. and cable TV lauds or yaps incessantly... and really? no money has been spent, as yet. Nothing really has been DONE for the economy. There's plans. There's talk. There's a new Stimulus Bill signed. Sure. But, it all comes down to YOU and ME spending, and believing it'll all be OK -- and of course, at some point wrestling the Banking industry like it was a runaway steer. (Which should have ALREADY seen 1,000s of FIRINGS of white collar, overpaid fatheads.)
What I mean to say -- is that NOTHING has been done for reversing the economy by Gov't since the last bailout of the Big 3 automakers in November. Unless you count the $200 million stimulation of the DC economy in late-January. It seems to be ALL about private spending and private (you/me) investment.
By the way, Dray it's spelled "ditto" not dido.

the financial system has collapsed, really bad. the practice of minting money, unethical financial transactions and charging ridiculous interest rates have created world's biggest disastor. when US decided to go for war in the middle east, too much minting of money that the value of currency is equivalent to zero. charging ridiculous interest rate benefited the rich and causing the poor to suffer continuously. unethical financial transaction is wat the cause of subprime crisis.. where it all began... hence exposed greedy corporate exec slipping away with millions in bonuses. wat does the US ppl shud do?

well.. in order for a country's econ to move again, the ppl need to spend again.. and spend wisely. if no one wud want to spend anymore, then there is no real currency value flowing into the country, hence making the country fall into spiral and it wud take many years to get out. ever wonder wat is the real currency value of the USD? go ahead and do a research on it..

I agree with you to some extent. However we have to keep in mind that it will probably take many years for people to bounce back from this recession. I hope that it will happen asap but right now all we can do is fight for our economy as a people and save as much as we can. We'll get there! Stay positive!

Be patient. Its that kind of instant gratification attitude that got us into this mess in the first place. Just calm down.

I agree. It's ironic and stupid how they say the lifeblood of the economy is banks lending money; hmm, I thought that was what got us in trouble to begin with! If they were to be honest, they would say the lifeblood is ordinary people having JOBS!

Anyway, when this recession is all said and done (whenever that happens) and banks are lending again, don't you think this recession is going to screw with so many people's credit rating that the banks won't lend to those people? So will our economy sink again once it's started to recover?
