I've a notebook (Sony Vaio, very old) but I cannot connect to SL45 via InfraRed (although theorically they can automatically accept each other).
It also has USB port but I have no USB cable.
Who has experience on connect phone to Notebook via InfraRed to synchronize data, or software (I've used Siemens Mobile Control but failed) can do it, pls tell me.
Thanks!

i have a IBM R30 laptop on which Windows XP is installed. I did not experience any problem when I employed IRDA of my laptop in order to communicate with SL45. I have also tested IRDA connection capability of SL45 on some other laptops. Those employing Windows XP communicate with SL45 without any problem. To my experience SL45 is one of the most user friendly cell phone in relation to the connection to the computer via IRDA port but as always some laptops have strange hardware and sometimes this prevents communication. This was case for me when I employed my laptop in order to communicate with some Nokia phones.

Yes Win98 got some problems in connecting some devices, esp. USB
I've made better experience with WinME (I've no problems to connect my SL45 with my Laptop)
Maybe this link helps you if you are running a Win98 system

My laptop use WinMe. I've try to use Data Suite and Siemens Quick Synchronize, they can connect my phone to PC; so I can open MMC and copy file from PC to phone and vice versa. Now I only can synchronize Calendar entry with M. Outlook, but Contact -> phone Address Book. Some months before I used an InfraRed port connect phone to my Desktop with XP, they can recognized each other automatically.

Hi, I have install hardware, and now when I turn IrDA on my sl45, PC can automatically recognize phone. But still cannot synchronize Addressbook, although calendar entry can do that. I don't know why.
