I am not sure what to board this really come under, so I hope it`s ok to post it hear.

I am 29 years old and getting married next year:)

For the last 11 years I have suffered on and off with depression and anxiety. I am currently off work with it, and have been since April. I am hoping to go back in about 3 weeks. :) I have had CBT for nearly a year and a half, and all the problems with my depression i feel have been dealt with. I think my anxiety will always be slightly there, but I think I am just a worrier! I am now currently now on 7.5 zopocloine and 50m of amitriptyline, which I take at night.

As a child I always used to suffer from ear infection and constantly seemed to be on antibiotics or had a cold.

I went to Australia in 2000 and lived with a nurse. There she picked up some of my symptoms, and thought I may have had a under active thyroid, I have had this tested about 6 time since then, for this but and all my results have been normal! I go to the Dr`s on wed, where I hope to get my latest blood test results which I expect to be normal!

I am really worried about going back to work and then being off again, cause at the min, I just seem to be so tired all the time. Due to my anxiety and depression 3 months ago I just didn`t want to go out and stayed in all the time. Now I have all the enthusiasm to start planning for my wedding, go out and see friends, but I seem to have no energy to do any of this.

These are my symptoms:
I aways feel the cold, I always have layers on, and hate going anywhere with air condationing.
My wrist and fingers, always seem to ache, as do my legs and back sometimes.
My skin in certain areas hurts espically on my legs, is so sensitive to touch sometimes, espically when i put jeans on and the material rubs over the area, like where my pockets are.
My skin is always dry and so is my hair, it breaks so easily.
I am always tired, I go out and within about an hour alls i want to do is come home and crawl into bed, but can`t get to sleep without sleeping tablets, apart from sometimes me and my fianc

Samsara81: I'm sorry you're feeling so horrible. Some of this comes with just being a woman. I'd recommend that you find yourself a good endocrinologist and get your hormones tested. Look up Estrogen Dominance. There's about 40 symptoms/side effects of it and you've got several - cold hands & feet and dry eyes are right on there. You might be in need of some progesterone to help balance your hormones.

The endocrinologist can also do a whole workup of your adrenal glands, thyroid, and more. You could have adrenal fatigue. If your body isn't making progesterone from your ovaries it will make it from the adrenals and then you'll get tired.

Also see if you can get your vitamin levels checked. Alot of times if you're deficient in Vitamin B12 it mimics depression. You might just need some B12 and you'll be able to get off of the meds that have been prescribed for you.

Even though you're only 29 you can still start having perimenopause symptoms at your age. Some women start as early as 30 years old. Girls are getting their periods earlier these days because of the estrogens we're all exposed to. Think about all the hormones they put in beef these days.

Look up xenoestrogens and phytoestrogens. You'll be amazed at what you read. Do you eat soy? If so, it mimics estrogen in your body. It's not good. People have raved about soy benefits over the years but I can't tolerate it. They're putting it in tuna fish, mayonnaise, and more. I've got estrogen dominance and because of it I started having epileptic seizures 5 years ago when I started hitting the menopause stage.

I had a toxic and non-toxic element test done where they sent a sample of my hair off to a lab and the results came back that I was deficient in magnesium and selenium. It tests a whole bunch of stuff like lead and toxic stuff that could be in us. I don't know what's available in the UK for you for something like that. Don't give up trying to find an answer. You need to be your own advocate and find an answer to your problems.

I have a feeling that it's your hormones. Good luck.

Thank you so much 92261 for replying.I was beginning to think no one would, or maybe my symptoms, were just "normal" and I would have to live with them.

I forgot to put I am on the pill, cerazette, which I believe is a progesterone only pill, I`m not sure if that makes any difference, but to be honest I only started it in Nov 08 and I had the symptoms before than anyway.

I am seeing my GP tomorrow, so will ask him, if he can refer me to a endocrinologist and get the hormones tested done. We really hope to try for a baby next year, so finger crossed everything is OK.

Will have to goggle Estrogen Dominance, xenoestrogens and phytoestrogens, as I have never heard of them ;)

It`s interesting you said about Vit B12, I have read that it can increase your energy levels, and about 2 months ago started buying organic skimmed milk, as that seemed to have a lot in it. My vitamin tablets say they provide 100% RDA, but am wondering if thats not enough for my body! So will ask my GP where I can get my vitamins check too.

I buy quorn mince I am not to sure if that has soy in it, will check the freezer later. I sometimes have a soy latte when I am in town, so that will go.

Guess I will just keep asking my GP for different test and keep pushing. Like I said in 2000 I had some of the symptoms, but once I got diagnosed with depression, I think I was just trying to cope with that. But that has been delt with and these symptoms are still here, so they can`t blame it on that!!

Once again Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my post, and for giving me a direction, to start looking for answers. Take care of yourself.
Lottie x
