Maybe kill "two birds with one stone" ... get a Pupfish http://www.nwf.org/nationalwildlife/images/062003/pupfish.jpg .Just kidding (save the hate mail)! I know their endangered.
Really a new fish would depend on tank size, what kind of fish you like,and what kind of conditions you will have (no heater,hard water,time for maintenance,etc.) so that keeping it doesn't "get old". Ideally it should be something very interesting to you,and fun to keep ... a tank size would let us know where to start.

Problem is, Im not sure what kind to gett!! 
I really wanted a goldfish a few months ago, but now I am not sure if I should get another betta or another fish. I already have 2 guppies, 3 tetras, and 1 male betta. I want one that doen't generally die in a few weeks ( a long term fishy). I wanted a dog a week ago but my parents yelled at me and said no. Then I said that they won't ever let me get any animals ( i have 1 horse, 1 cat, and 6 fish) and then my dad was like, " I dont care if you get anymore fish!". Of course, I would probably rather have a puppy, but another fish would be cool too!!
