I went to the Redhill Honda dealers the other day to test drive the Honda Civic Type-r and I still can't make my mind up over it! First of all the test drive was very short as it only had 4 miles of fuel in the tank! The sales man had no clue about the Type-r, claiming the Type-r GT was a turbo! lol! I love the inside of the car very futuristic and the outside is very nice too so no problems there. Driving the FN2 was good but it felt a bit slow when I accelerated I'm not sure if it felt this way because the car is larger & heavier than the previous model but it just didn't feel that exciting compared to the previous model. There just was no sense of speed! The other thing I struggled with was the top of the steering wheel was blocking my view of the digital speedo, no matter what position I moved the steering wheel, to low and the wheel would rum my legs too high I can't see over the wheel! The worst part is that spoiler directly across the rear window! I tried to get used to it but the fact that you are forbidden to see any cars behind you from a distance is disappointing and no rear window wiper either! I'm not sure weather to go back and request a much longer test drive to see if it makes any difference or not but as far as I can remember the previous model felt faster when you accelerate. I know I sound a bit negative about this car and honestly I want to like this car for my next car so do you think a longer test drive would help? My other choice of cars are VW Golf GTI mk5, Ford Focus ST or Skoda Octavia Vrs, I know it's a Skoda but a 150mph version! so not slow!
