I am having nothing but problems with my Driod. I am on my 2nd phone. The GPS died on the first one.

Now this one the rotation of the kbd is slow.
When in a call (vmail or any call) and I need to use the phone pad to hang up or delete a vmail the phone wont wake up. It wont hank up etc. I have to shake it to get it to do anything. then finally it will wake up.

very aggravating.

why would it be doing this? faulty unit? bad os what?

I know there is a proximity sensor and it some times works ok. So may be something is wrong with that?

If you have to shake the phone, and it isnt a feature (haha), then its probably hardware. Sounds unlucky man but i know plenty of people are happy with their droid.

A lot of us here at the AC hated our G1's at first to lol..complaining about every little thing we could think of I myself had 4 due to hardware issues, just bad luck man stick with it...fyi..its not the OS lol

I highly recommend getting your next replacement from a store that is far removed from the store you got your first two phones. You have to play the probability game.

I've had my Droid since Nov. 11, and love it!

It did reboot once, but that really is the ONLY problem I've had! Even my camera has focused consistently, and I don't hear any whirling noises when I take a photo.

I unplugged the Droid this morning at 6am, and during the day I spent an hour waiting for my daughter at the orthodontist, playing card games (Fun Tower...what a GREAT time waster) reading, listening to music, made calls during the day, text messages.

Later, I took my kids out to dinner while the wife stayed home, so I was reading part of the time during dinner (I know, I know... rude, rude, rude....).... even used the Navigator for about 30 minutes.

I returned home around 7pm, with 30% charge remaining! NOT TO SHABBY!!!

well i did get the new phone for a store 30 miles away from the last place. We will see what happens. So far I have had to reboot 1 time but other than that OK. (ok i woke murphy up now.

well i got an update on Friday I think and so far (knock on wood not to wake up Murphy) the phone seems to be better. I don't know what they changed but they did change the way we answer the phone and that seems to work better then the arc thingy.

Does anyone here happen to work for a phone company or be a phone reviewer or something of the sort? I need someone who is familiar with the Android OS to answer these questions for me, if you'd like to help me out you can email your answers to [email protected]

1. What did you like or dislike about the Android OS?

2. Of all of the problems reported (incompatible apps, gmail account setups, installing apps to an SD card, etc), which one do you think is the worst?

3. How might you go about fixing the problem, if you could?

4. Do you believe the issues reported might be enough to put android phones to rest for good, or have they gained too much of a following to be slowed down?

5. Do you believe that if Android was not open software, developed by google and only by google, that it might work more effectively or less so?

6. Overall, would you recommend this OS for everyday call/text/internet users?
