Not even to save my life

I love music, but I can't seem to find the beat of any song to save my goddam life. I will tap my foot or finger to what I feel is the beat, but I don't think I am right. I know it is more of a spur of the moment thing, but any tips to help me out?

what kind of music? usually you just try to tap along with the drums as drums are usually the ones sticking to the beat...

and yes i know this is not always the case. just a general rule of thumb.

rock music, queens of the stoneage, social distortion, tiger army, bad religion, afi, rob zombie and such. oh pennywise too.

that is a good sample of my taste.

Yeah, punk rock can cure you of a lot of musical deficiencies. lol

In my early 20's, Blondie had a huge influence over me.

I've returned to her music in the last ten years, but I was sure to always remember to take her songs with a grain of salt.

The first song on one of her new album The Curse of Blondie is quite impressive.

Also Devo is kinda punk. They got a real easy beat to pick-up and will definitely keep your mind glued. They are around my all-time fifth or sixth favorite band.
