I'm mexican and people in my neighborhood look at me funny because i don't dress " ghetto" meaning big earrings, tennis shoes , bright color jacket and funky hairstyles. I dress conservative ( dress pants , pencil skirt , wear flats ) Most of my friends are white and mexican think i'm a "sellout" or a snob. I'm really not. I'm down to earth and sweet. I love the few friends i have but at the same time i would like to speak spanish sometimes lol but i don't fit into the stereotype. Why do people act this way ?
Not dressing "ghetto" in a ghetto environment is weird ?
