Not allowed to browse, but I can anyway....

Ok, so I just bought a Slider Remix and it has a option to launch a browser. I launched it and it said browsing chargers may occur. I saw ok and it takes me to the cricket portal and everything. I cant go to websites but i can google images and do searches. log into gmail etc. but when i called the customer service to say i wanted to subscribe to the $5 unlimited browsing he told me the web is only available for the Razr. He also said the software for the kyocera phones to browse isnt out yet and it should be soon, Also that I would have to wait untill then in order to browse the net from my remix. But I AM ABLE to browse and go to the cricket portal and everything. I looked online at my account no extra charges have occured yet. So what gives? Am I getting it free for now? or what?

lucky, do u know what the setting are? by pressing ##web and seeing the ip and stuff. and the ##data to see the info?

oh, you should say u have the RAZR so they activate it and see if it works right
 
well i tried to access gmail and it asked me to subscribe so i did so now i guess i have $5 monthly access unlimited on my remix. (I just bought this phone.) you prob. have to get the latest prl for access.
 
all wap enabled phones currently shipping have the updated browser on them and can access Cricket WAP portal. You should be able to take older phones to a Cricket Retail store to have the new browser flashed on it.
 
if you have a remix or xcursion older than a few weeks you'll need to goto a corp cricket store to get the browser updated.

New remix and xcursion currently being sold are up to date and wap is an option. If you subscribe you'll get an additional $5 on your bill. Currently the internet offering is in phase 1 and limited. You need to go through Google to get to most sites. Phase 2 will roll out soon and you be able to surf directly.
 
Yeah i noticed that, I cant go directly to sites but if i go through google i can go to them. so i just go through google to my site and i set up a page of links for my phone on there. heh. thanks for everyones responses.
 
I got a text from cricket saying "To access the mobile web, simply bring your phone to a full service Cricket store for a free feature upgrade." I also have a Slider Remix. Closest store to me is a 45 minute drive so it'll have to wait till this weekend to get it done.
 
this is phase 2. phase one was data carRAB testing the access. only Cricket employee's had access to these. phase three will roll out soon.... any cricket employees or dealers had the roaRABhow near them yet? ours is tomorrow and i am eager to see what is coming( actually i'm eager cause i heard nokia was giving out 40 phones and there is only 120 people attending)
 
Today i didnt receive a text (EVER) but i went to a little cricKet store and they tried and faled. The MAJOR one told me i needed to wait for the text, but they said i could get it anyways. Their system wasnt up to date so i need to goto another one by the mall. maybe tonight!
 
Stupid quesiton, but how do you get to the google site? yea I work for cricket but I forget and can't figure it out to save my life :)
