Nose Bleeds

I think I'm a crack head, and I don't even know it...

I've woken up twice this month bleeding profusely from my left nostril (same nostril both times). And this isn't oozey blood, this is pouring out... I wouldn't be surprised if somebody's been putting crack cocaine on my pillow while I sleep, and I'm waking up after I snort it...

Does anybody know any particular thing that could cause this? It happened for the second time today, and it somewhat worries me.

By the way, it happened between 7:15 and 7:30 both times. I've got no idea if this has any relation to it...

Generally nose bleeds happen because the skin inside is thin and dry. The dryness weakens the thin skin then it breaks somehow. Depending on how thin the skin is it could break from something as easy as a deep breath. Allergies tend to make nosebleeds more common as they irritate the tissue inside the nose. Usually it's more common in the winter because of the way the cold weather will dry out your nose. (Just like chapped lips are more common in the winter).

The only thing I can think of off of the top of my head that might help is a large glass of water. Keep water by your bed and drink it throughou the night. This should help keep you hydrated which will in turn (by keeping your lungs moist) start to help keep your nostrils less dry if you breath through your nose in your sleep. You could also try teaching yourself to breath through your mouth more in your sleep.

my brother used to get nose bleeds all the time but he never figured out why also he was about 17-20 years old so if ur around that age it could be some thing natural so i wouldnt worry about it too much.

That's true, I have been breathing through my nose when it happened.

Alright, a glass of water. That's simple enough...

Thanks.

Edit:// two more posts while I was posting...

I think I get enough Iron... I ate a bigass hot dog last night, so I don't think that would be the problem.

I'm not 17-20... but did they stop eventually? I'm sick of dripping blood across the floor while I run to the sink...

I used to get alot of nose bleeds, especially when it is hot out. I still do sometimes. Eat healthier and use a nasal spray to moisturize your nostrils before you go to bed.

I am extremely prone to nosebleeds, and I get them all the time. I have ruined sheets on several occasions from nosebleeds that I get in my sleep.

Here's the trick: Pour water in your nose. It will help moisturize the skin inside. Avoid picking the crusted blood out (unless it's TOTALLY clogging your airways and it's itchy), because that will only make things worse. I usually get my nosebleeds from when I bump my nose and one of those sharp razor boogers cuts me badly...ouch.

Anyway, I hope I helped you out on this...I get them frequently, and I feel your pain...I have gotten them this bad a few times.

I know high blood pressure can cause nose bleeds among other symptoms.
Only 2 in a month isn't necessarily alarming though.

It could be:
- dry air. Sometimes air conditioning can dry the air a great deal.
- an allergy.
- a blood thinning medication like aspirin.

Then like I said it could be a blood pressure issue, or something worse like a polyp or tumor.
In any case I would consult a physician, instead of retards like me.

(Also, the fact that it happens at the same time in the morning all the time, points to demonic possession. Have you been waking up on the ceiling, or vomiting pea soup? I would also consult a shaman or skilled exorcist.)
