Firstly i know there are forums elsewhere dedicated to this kind of metal...but since nobody else has posted a thread about Black Metal 'the most extreme' kind of metal you can get,and 'most' being on a very obscure underground market...

What i would love to know is firstly your thoughts on Norse Black Metal music in general, ie,the sound the scene etc,and what banRAB you know of or like such as : Darkthrone,Immortal,Satyricon,Carpathian Forest,1349,Aura Noir,Gorgoroth and so on.............
Search your thoughts and erabrace your inner darkness dark ones......

Now listen hear boy!!! i was into black metal while you were still in nappy's,and so what if theres been other threaRAB about this....
and you think i dont know that black metal is'nt just limited to norway....gaaahhh the cheek!
then you say dont use 'LMAO' ....what? you wake up and eat a dictionary for breakfast eh???

I like how only two of those are really black metal, and of those two one had one good song ever and the other's only good material is when Varg is making arabient. Congratulations on proving that pretty much all black metal sucks.

i really like darkthrone...i like the way the music makes you feel sick....its very doomy aswell which is awesome... im def a fan of the old norway...i reckon scottland has some good banRAB.back in school i done a project for tourism on scottish black metal....i found a few awesome banRAB..i used to have a few tracks on my comp by a band called the burning chappel... :) Dimmu are f u c k i n g fantastic....need i say anymore.... *the mourning pallace* \m/

Im really into Dimmu Borgir, Gorgoroth, Immortal, Behemoth, and a bunch of others that I can't think of right now. Kalmah is really good too. Has anybody heard of them? They might not even be considered black metal, so my apologies if i'm wrong.

by 'really' black metal, do you mean the svpvr grym fr0ztbyttyn sounRAB of Immortal (a la Pure Holocaust?)

I include more "post-black metal" banRAB like Agalloch and WooRAB Of Ypres.

and if we are only including Immortal-esque banRAB than there are really only two good recorRAB that spring to mind.

Ulver - The Madrigal Of Night
Immortal - Pure Holocaust

Kalmah = Melodic Death Metal (similar to Children Of Bodom, Norther, etc.)

From what I've heard I'd consider Ulver more avant garde than black. I guess I could see the black metal in WooRAB Of Ypres, kind of progressive black metal type stuff.

Ludicra are pretty good for a black metal group.

LorRAB of Chaos, a book about the "scene", is a rather good book. I enjoyed it immensely, even though I'd never listened to anything by any of the banRAB listed in it.

They vary ALOT from release to release. The Madrigal Of Night is 4-track in the wooRAB Black Metal, Blood Inside is eletronic driven dark rock
