North American Shonen Jump [January 2008] Talkback

Just a happy 40th year anniversary wish, a chance to win a trip to Japan for the 40th year anniversary Jump Festa, and a special 40th anniversary pinup.

I remeraber they kept in a manji from the Arlong Park part on One Piece. In the margin was a footnote stating that although a manji reserables a swastika, they are two completely different syrabols.
Of course it was only a brief panel unlike Ace's tattoo

Did anyone else notice the surprising amount of editing that One Piece had last month? Like smoke missing from Miss Doublefinger's cigar, and a small shirt added to Robin. Does this continue this month?

Picked my issue up.
Hm. Anyone else feel like the cover actually has a "Weekly Jump" feel to it?

Oh. And what was the largest issue of the magazine has there been?

The Manji becoming a cross was expected due to factors previously stated in this thread, but do you think it will stay a cross when those chapters go into Graphic Novels?

Reason I'm asking is because of Naruto. An example of what I'm talking about is that Neji's curse mark is the same as the anime shows it's when it is published in the magazine, but back to it's Manji syrabol in the Graphic Novels.

Also there is an ad for the One Piece game but it in the Video Game section of the magazine.

Also, unless I'm mistaken, the scene where Nami "convinces" the crab to move faster was edited, as well.

Not that I... uhh... you know...

...but, anyways, good to know One Piece is still relevant to the Shonen Jump world. NOW SPEED IT UP, VIZ!

The editing for Shonen Jump has gotten so commonplace that I think at this point they have to make at least two per issue just for the sake of editing, even when it's not necessary at all.

As for why "One Piece" characters are on the cover, it's probably because they've already exhausted themselves with "Bleach" and "Naruto" pictures.

Awesome.

Also, it's awesome that they're putting more characters into the cover as opposed to just one character (who always is the main character).
