North American Shonen Jump [January 2008] Talkback

Private Potion and Potion Punch: Viz's worst ideas since a 4KiRAB dubbed One Piece. And Viz has the anime, so they will do the same thing in those episodes too. And Viz has been so good up until now, keeping most of the violence in, at least in the manga, and keeping previous references to sake in, both in the Shonen Jump magazine and in the anime on Toonami. And Viz is really confusing me, because they just gave Neji back his manji, so why did they do the opposite with the sake references?

I've been resisted asking this, but I'm giving in.

In the Bleach chapters, I heard they censored Matsumoto, Orihime (added clothes to Kon's fantasy and a towel to Matsumoto) and Grimmjow (middle finger). I'm guessing it's true, yes?

Really? When was the last time they edited a manga like that and then didn't edit the anime on TV? The DVRAB will have the original dialog, but the anime on Toonami? I'm not so sure.

Just picked up the issue.
Well I'm glad my two favorite Jump series are both at my favorite points in their respective series ( Bleach - Arrancar, Naruto - Part II)
And the factor that they're in the magazine so hey.

To bad Viz won't pull One Piece out and give it a lil' "One Piece Nation" type deal.
so at least we'd be up to Skypiea or something.
Not barely just getting into Alabasta

Too bad I can't get the American Shonen Jump in Hong Kong.
They're already up to Volume 40 of the Naruto manga. Tankoubans are hard to find as well. Chances are, you'd have to buy 'em when they're new.

They have been undoing the censoring in the graphic novels for Bleach, but I really have my doubts about these chapters.

Speaking of which, last month they did another bit censoring on Matsumoto's school uniform. They did undo all it in the GN, except for one panel at the end of the book. I'm hoping they'll catch that in the next printing, but it seems unlikely. Viz isn't exactly known for their consistency.

And we won't be finding until June anyway (when volume 23 of Bleach comes out).

Oh, well I' guess I also like to add, IMO? Probably one of the best US Jump issues in long while.
Only complaint outside of the One Piece issue is YYH.
To be perfectly honest? It should've been took out of the magazine and replaced with Hunter x Hunter..
but Hey. Whatever. I love YYH.

EDIT: Holy Snapple Lady! I just noticed that With Thursday's Jetstream update of Hikaru no Go, Jetstream has basically caught up to magazine.
