Normal pap test results but I have dysplasia?

I just had my annual pap, and my doctor called me this morning to tell me I have dysplasia, but my test was normal, not abnormal. That doesn't really make sense to me? Can anyone shed a little bit of light on what this means? They have me scheduled to come back in 6 months for another pap. In the mean time... I am worried and wondering if I am at a high risk for cervical cancer or what is going on. I guess there isn't anything else I can do for another 6 months. There are different degrees of dysplasia if it is low they will watch you for any growth every six months because sometimes the body can heal its self and battle the dysplasia. if it is moderate or severe then they will preform the LEAP which they take a laser and burn off the problematic parts of the cervix they numb you and you can go home right away you can even drive your self!! but the normal pap just means you have nothing else wrong and probably very little traces of dysplasia I am sorry i went through it and have to go again in Jan. ill be praying for you!
