I'm 43 and have a mvp (trace amts of regurg of 5 yrs ago). I smoked for 28 years (long time I know) and quit 3 years ago because I could feel it killing me. Heart disease runs on both sides of my family and father had his first heart attack at 35. I'm worried because over the course of the past several months I have become fatigued to the point that it is difficult to get through a day of doing nothing, my abdomen is distended, I always feel bloated, have regular indigestion (gets worse even if all I drink is water), my feet and ankles were swelling regularly a few months ago, one night during the same time I begin vomiting every 15 mins and it finally began decreasing in frequency of the course of the night and finally quit (I could literally time it), I have become extremely anxious (it seems to worsen as the day progresses but seems to calm at night), I have frequent heartburn, sometimes I have what feels like heartburn in the center of my chest but none of the gastric evidence (even if I haven't eaten). Tonight I went to Walmart and as usual was winded by the time I walked in and went straight to the BP machine - my heart rate was 77 bp was 144/85 but I was winded. I waited a few mins and checked again - heart rate 75 and bp 133/83. I don't get it. As I'm typing this I feel like my heart is knocking in my chest. If I had heart problems my heart rate would be high if I'm winded right? And my breathing has improved drastically since I quit smoking. I used to have problems blowing out a candle and now I can do so from a couple of feet away easily. Honestly I'm afraid my doctor is going to say nothing is wrong and I feel like I should be making funeral arrangements. I'm 5'9 and weigh 175 (used to weigh about 145 a few years ago. Actually I still wear the same size except my stomach has gotten huge over time). I still look very young and I just don't know what's happening to me.
