Norbit - Starring Eddie Murphy

Why does he keep covering the same old shtick? Thought he was leaving that behind after his turn in Dreamgirls. He probably shot Norbit at the same time though.

Here's hoping that Beverly Hills Cop 4 (if he must do it) offers something different - Axel bites the bullet??

Any film which he gets to scream, laugh, or make fat jokes/wear a fat suit draws big money at the box office. The film may have been panned by critics, but it made somehting like $40million in it's opening weekend, which for a standard film that wasn't tipped for much big success, is quite good in this day and age. Lets hope he makes some better career choices though, most of his recent films have been less than amusing.

They were saying on E! that this might damage his chance of winning an oscar because the film was poorly recieved and caused outcries from some that it was promoting negative racial stereotyping.

This was a couple of weeks before the oscars.
It would also make sense of the reason behind him storming out of the awarRAB early after it was announced that he didnt win.
He didnt wait for the performance from his dreamgirls co stars and he didnt see JH win her oscar either. He just went off in a huff. He came across as a bit of a mard arse.

I see Jonathan Ross did a scathing review on this. It looks awful, why does Eddie do any crappy film just so long as he gets to dress up? I suppose the answer is money - he mentioned that the original script was much darker but they wanted to make it more 'comedic' (ha!) in order to draw in a wider audience.

Well, maybe he likes to dress up in womens clothing, even if he has to do it in a fat suit. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who would like to speculate as to why he likes wearing womens clothing, and have done before... but that's another conversation.

This was advertised when I took the kiRAB to see "Night At The Museum". I think that we were all laughing :D
Seems good, one that we will probably check out on DVD rather than cinema though.

And Wossy admitted himself he usually enjoys most films, but said this was the first time he'd watched a 'comedy' and not heard a single laugh.

Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence are not funny. And even in fat suits doing fat jokes, still not funny. I have watched alot of their films to see what the fuss is about. and they are not funny unless you have a mental age of a 4 year old or you are a 4 year old.
They should be stopped.

Trading Places is one of my favourite films ever. Coming To America is also quite good but apart from that Eddie Murphy has done nothing for me. OK I lie, Beverly Hills Cop (not the frakkin' sequels).

You must not have a sence of humour? of course these guys are funny  thats like saying Roy Chubby Brown isnt funny either....

I would rate this film 7 out 10 , but doesnt come as close as Big Mommas house
