that is not the case...your evo and 1x signals will show different because they are exactly that, different signals...one may be stronger in some places than the other...since cricket has 1x all over and evdo is new, then you will most likely see a stronger 1x signal...son't worry b/c your phone switches back to 1x for voice calls, so you won't see a difference there...please note that the evdo signal is just that and will not effect your call quality...
