Non stress test next week at 40 weeks and 2 days?

What exactly is this and what do they do for it? Any needles involved?

It will be done at the clinic I go to and done right after the ultrasound I have. These two tests are both 45 minutes in length. So what can I expect. This is my first baby and I am due on sunday of this week
