Non rooters

It took me until cupcake was leaked to be brave enough to root and i watched videos on youtube which was a hell of a lot easier than the reading guides (little advice for people scared)

Even now I don't use many of the benefits of rooting tbh like Apps2SD and tethering, i enjoy custom build but I mainly just like the option of having everything open to me with the phone but could probably live without root if it was forced upon me

hmmm actually i dno what would happen if you screwed the phone because of root? If you had insurance would you be able to just drop it in some water then claim that way or would they know?

Just say that you got robbed....simple

say you was walking down the road and your bag fell and everything fell out and then some guy came and stole it

For the longest time I didn't root and I was quite happy and thought why would people root and risk bricking the phone. That's just crazy!

Then one day I found out an app on the Market that I really wanted and needed, but I couldn't get it because I was running out of space on the phone. Now the choice was... do I delete other apps (which I use constantly) so I could fit this one app in, or do I root so I could run many more apps from the sd card?

So I spent the next 2 weeks doing research on rooting, moving apps to sd, linux, pitfalls, etc, weighed the pros and cons. Then I decided... I'll give it a shot and root. Other than an occasional wipe, rooting didn't harm my phone. It actually improved it a lot.

Are there days I'd like to go back to non-root status? Sure... when the phone acts up. But the pros on rooting for me way outweighs the cons any day.

my hat goes off to you sir! if i wore a hat. it's one of the few occassions i've seen someone say they actually researched for more than 15 minutes, without asking to be spoonfed. i rooted my ipod touch the other day. i never owned an apple product before and had no idea as to the jailbreak process, although i've heard of qwkpwn or whatever it's called lol. it took me approximately 15 minutes or so of googling and reading a few posts to figure out how to do it. and i didn't register or post one question anywhere. i jailbroke 2.1 and then later, i found a link to the 3.0 update which isn't available to the public yet. so i'm now running 3.0 with stereo bluetooth!
rooting is for kicks and benefits. it's like modding a muscle car. or overclocking your pc. it's definitely not for everyone. some do it just because of the risks involved (me). some do it to add extra features to their device. others do it for all possible reasons. if i bricked my phone while rooting, i'd be pissed off, then i'd laugh, knowing it was MY own doing.then i'd take the g1 apart to learn how to put one back together properly. and then go buy the latest phone. everyday you wake up , life is one huge risk. people die everyday just crossing the street. we're only talking about a cellphone here. i'm not sure why some people take it so seriously.

you can over/underclock , wireless tethering , apps to sd , themes , try out the different android roms out there , know that you are free to try what you want with your phone when you want ( example .. get cupcake much sooner than official update), and more !
here is a VERY easy guide how to do it ....

lol ' i feel like a pusher now ...
anyways , its not for everyone . if you dont feel a need to root your phone , you shouldnt because there are real chances to ruin your lovely android phone !( its just not very easy)

Rooting is the best thing you could possibly do to this phone...My girlfriend has a non-rooted 1.5 G1 and it's night and day compared to mine...The speed and storage alone on my build is worth rooting, not including all the other advantages. IF you know what your doing, you can't mess this phone up.
