I just moved into a new home and plugged some spotlights into two outdoor outlets, one out front and one out back. Everything was fine for several days until we had a rainy day, now neither one is working. The house was built in the 90s and neither is a GFI outlet. One is on a porch without about six or eight feet under a roof and the other is under a two foot overhang, so I don't think either was soaked.
First I tested to make sure it was the outlets and not the lights and it's definitely the outlets. Then I flipped each circuit breaker in the house individually but that didn't do the trick either.
Since the outlets are non-GFI so cannot be reset, is there any hope? Will they eventually dry out and work again? Is there anything I can do short of calling an electrician?
Thanks in advance for your help.
